Winner : II Prize Kho-Kho
The Inter School Kho-Kho tournament was held at Nazarath College of Arts & Science on 23rd January, 2012 and our School won A Trophy for the Second Prize.
CHESS
The S.K. Narasimhan Memorial Open Chess Tournament was held at National level at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai. There were around 150 participants from all over India and our student Master Subbu Krishna of Standard III won the II Prize in the under 8 category - Boys.
In the under 10 Girls Category, around 200 students participated and Miss Aishwarya of our School of Standard III won the II Prize.
MUSIC COMPETITION
Thyagaraja Aradhana falls on Pushya bagula Panchami day every year. On this day musicians from all over the world gather at Thiruvaiyaru, Tanjore district and sing one of the greatest compositions of Sri Sathguru Thyagaraja, "The Ghana Raga Pancharatnas" on the pushya bagula Panchami day. This year our school conducted this aradhana on 13th January.
IKEBANA COMPETITION
I

Ikebana is a disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. Contrary to the idea of floral arrangement as a collection of parti-colored or multicolored arrangement of blooms, ikebana often emphasizes other areas of the plant, such as its stems and leaves, and draws emphasis toward shape, line and form.
PONGAL CELEBRATION
Pongal Celebrations were held at La Chatelaine on 13th January, 2012. The event elaborated the tradition behind the festival through songs, colourful dance and an inspiring Drama, which chalked out the auspices of the occasion in a humorous and thought provoking manner. The students of Class IV – XII , thoroughly enjoyed the event.
RANGOLI COMPETITION
Rangoli is a traditional decorative folk art of India. These are decorative designs made on floors of living rooms and courtyards and are meant as sacred welcoming areas. Rangoli designs can be simple geometric shapes, flower and petal shapes, but they can also become very elaborate designs crafted by numerous people.
Yes, this is exactly how the Rangoli Competition was conducted at La Chatelaine on 13th January, 2012. Students from Standards VI-XI drew a huge outline of India, glorifying the various Dance and Art forms of India, culminating in an outstanding work by the students.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
The 63rd Republic Day was celebrated with a true spirit of Patriotism. The day flagged off with a March Past. The honour of hoisting the flag was given to the ASPL R. Bhaarath of Class XI, followed by the pledge. Patriotic songs were sung and speeches were given in English, Tamil and in Hindi. Later, sweets were distributed and the National Anthem was sung.
